Heartless Dumping Kittens Found in Cardboard Box
On Friday, three little kittens were found abandoned in a cardboard box at a North Hykeham, Lincolnshire park. Dog walkers stumbled upon them and immediately took action.
The kittens, believed to be about 10 weeks old, were handed over to Lincoln Cat Care, where the charity quickly received interest from people wanting to adopt them.
Sadly, the charity said pet abandonment has become a “regular occurrence” and, this year, it’s been even worse than usual. Penny Craig, the coordinator at Lincoln Cat Care, shared that the kittens Jerry, Larry, and Harry seemed to have been dumped not long before they were found, as they were in good condition.
“They couldn’t have been there long,” she said. “When they arrived, they were just confused. One minute, they were in a box, the next, they were in a stranger’s house, suddenly unsure of what had happened to their ‘home.’”
The kittens will be neutered, microchipped, and given worm treatments before being put up for adoption. However, Ms. Craig pointed out that this is a growing issue.

“It’s been much worse this year. We’ve never had to turn cats away before, but now we don’t have enough space,” she said. “It’s heartbreaking. People must realize that abandoning a pet isn’t the answer it’s a lifelong responsibility.”
The trio is now safe, and with any luck, they’ll soon find their forever homes, but sadly, too many animals are facing the same fate.
